Cancellation policy

In the case of officially proven COVID infection within 14 days before the planned arrival, a 100% cancellation is possible at any time. This also applies to any quarantine ordered by the authorities. This is to give our guests a sense of security. In return, we would be pleased if an alternative date could be found.

Should an arrival nevertheless take place, it is only possible on proof of a recognized negative PCR test.

For all other cancellations the following regulation applies:

Guests can cancel free of charge up to 7 days before arrival. In case of cancellation within the 7 days prior to arrival, the guest will pay an amount equal to the total price.

Once you arrive to Gato Azul there is no refund or credit given on your accommodation if you decide for any reason to delay your arrival, shorten your stay, leave early or if you do not show up.

Reserved accommodation is paid in full at the arrival check-in.

Payments or credits and the accommodation are not transferable to another person.
 

Covid – These measures are in place at Gato Azul

  1. Upon arrival: Please ensure, you have officially tested yourself negatively upon your arrival. If in need, you may also take a test in our facilities, covering the costs of 5 € per test yourself or else bring a test and apply it at the house

  2. Disinfection of surfaces

  3. take fever on arrival by volunteers

  4. disinfect yourself

  5. quick tests (tests available for purchase)

    mandatory test on symptoms (quick test available for purchase) and mandatory test on arrival (tests available on site, at cost or bring yourself / test certificate 24 h / take test yourself and do it on site)

  6. natural ventilation

  7. quarantine in case of illness (one room is reserved in case of high occupancy?)

 

How to proceed with Covid in an emergency

Guest tested positive for Corona during the stay (repeat test): The affected person and any persons staying overnight are requested to go to their room and seclude themselves. Avoid all contact as far as possible. The result is to be verified by a PCR test. The staff will assist the guest in this process.

 

What if the PCR test is also positive?

The guest is required to follow the instructions of the health department:

  • travel home and enter quarantine at home (the guest must pay for any remaining costs until the actual departure, unless the room can be assigned to someone else) or

  • to go into quarantine at the hostel and not to leave the accommodation unit. (The costs incurred must be borne by the guest).

 

Stag party

We do not accept bookings for stag parties. We reserve the right to refuse entry to any person on the booking, even if they have booked and paid.
 

Groups

If you are planning to come with a large group, please contact us in advance by email or phone.

No drugs

Illegal drugs are prohibited by Spanish law. If a guest consumes illegal drugs in the hostel, they will be asked to leave. This will be done without any refund or compensation. 

Age restriction

We do not accept bookings from anyone under the age of 18. For 16-18 year olds, an adult companion must have booked in the same room, which is private. This means that under 18s may not be accommodated in any dormitory alone. For bookings with under 16s, the "private room" option must be booked.

Our guests are mostly aged 18-40, however there are no age restrictions in the hostel from 18+ years old.

Personal belongings

Each bed in the shared room has a small lockable cupboard where personal belongings can be stored. Gato Azul accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items. We recommend that you bring your own padlock.

Damage

In the event of damage to the facility due to inappropriate behaviour on the part of the guest, we reserve the right to charge the guest for the amount of the damage incurred. The corresponding amount will be charged or billed to the guest's credit card. 

Responsibility of Gato Azul

With the exception of death and personal injury, Gato Azul retains limited liability in respect of the service booked.

Personal data

Gato Azul only processes your data in order to manage your stay. Your data will be stored on the Sirvoy online platform and may be used to send you offers and new services. If you do not wish to receive this information, please send us an email to gato-azul@mailbox.org
